Randomness

So Keith and I went to Eat n' Park today. I order a salsbury steak with sugar snap peas and a baked potato. The waiter said they were out of sugar snap peas and baked potatoes. I changed to potato pancakes and broccili. About 10 minutes later, he comes back and tells me they're out of salsbury steak. Meeeh. I got the salad bar instead.

Just something that I was wondering randomly today. How come girls have are so much more privledged as far as society goes? They can wear jeans or trousers, or they can wear dresses, or they can wear skirts. They can wear t-shirts or polo shirts, or they can wear blouses. Is this a result of capitalist society wanting females to buy more?
Also, girls can either be gay or be lesbians. Guys can only be gay. Is this because society frowns upon homosexual males but relishes the female form?
Meh, just random thoughts.

I should definetly get more sleep. I was really, really tired all day today.

Yeah... It's a real "priviledge" to be expected to look like this (http://home.utm.utoronto.ca/~kathrynd/GENDER%20WEBSITE/IMAGES/80s%20-%20katie%20-%20anorexic15.jpg) and fit into clothing like this (http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=962&prodgroup=10).

I'll take getting looked at badly for wearing a skirt over getting looked at badly for being fat any day.

It's a cultural thing. In Scotland, dudes can wear skirts; they just call it something different. In the States during the 60s, high school girls got in trouble for wearing jeans. Considering women are often judged on their looks, it is within her interest to have as many eye-catching articles of clothing (or lack thereof) as possible.

Not quite sure about the whole thing as to why homosexual females are ok. I'd say is that to do with the natural expectations of men to get a job, find a wife and support a family. Ask me again when I'm not sleep-deprived and we get to that stuff in Social Psych.

Because feminism means that it's only okay to oppress men.

Depends on your perspective. Historically, the guys ask the girls out, not vice versa, so the only thing girls can do to improve their odds is look pretty, which leads to an entire industry revolving around making girls look pretty. As everyone in 251 knows, the girls get the pessimal solution in this scenario, therefore, guys are much more privileged.

You can still wear a skirt if you want though. It's called Kiltie Band. *ducks*
