Classes, take 2

So today were the other two classes I havn't had yet. Um... so yeah.

Combinatorics was once again great. It's hard stuff, but interesting stuff. Some of the proofs he did today I would have never thought to do with bijections (I would have used induction or direct proof instead)... but they're incredibly elegant with bijections.

15-312 recitation was good. The TA is incredibly competent, and I've seen a lot of this stuff before in 15-212, so it wasn't anything really hard. Things'll get hard, but it's definetly interesting stuff.

As for the new classes...

Photography was *amazing*. Love the professor. The class seems extremely interesting. I need to order supplies from online soon though so they arrive in time for me to shoot my first assignment. So excited!

Then was The Year is 1905. The more I sat through the class, the less I wanted to take it. I mean, the subject matter is definetly interesting, but the way the course is designed doesn't really appeal to me... I don't know. It's a historical and analytical view of the important scientists and their contributions, and how it developed and everything. Definetly interesting stuff. It's just that the reading for the class is so dry, and the assignments seem like they wouldn't be any fun at all (and incredibly tedious). The more I think about it, the more I want to drop it.

So yeah... here's an alternate schedule with 18-100 (Intro to ECE) instead.

The thing is... this would put me at 64 units. That's a lot of units. At the same time, I'm not working this semester, so I feel like I could handle 64 units (especially if they're stuff I enjoy). Meh. I need thoughts. I'll talk to Mark tomorrow too, but thoughts in the meantime would be appreciated.

I also applied for a research job today (and will apply for more if anything that I qualify for and that interest me come up). If I get a research job, then I can drop 99305 without feeling like I need to replace it with something.

Oh yeah, I'm now also the PR person for the Thistle yearbook. Get to be in charge of the website, recruiting, flyers, etc. Should be interesting.

And yeah... Student Wars cards are downloadable: http://swccg.alanv.org. Play? Please?

I'd recommend just dropping it. But if you absolutely feel like you need another class, take 18-100 instead.
