So I went to Gameworks with David today. House of the Dead 4 is amazingly fun... I love the grenades and "shaking" of the guns... interesting, and well integrated into the game. Whee. Also played DDR, of course. I swear, the pad there is going bad. It missed half of my back steps, and caused me to fail Can't Stop Fallin' in Love Speed Mix. Grrrr.
In other news, the Thistle website is finished. Huzzah. I'd forgotten how much fun it was to work on webpages.
I should order my textbooks for next semester soon. Already ordered my camera (the Canon AE-1; found it with a nice lens for $104 online). Looking forward to next semester :)
Anyone have any idea on what I should do to "release" Student Wars? I'm doing so much work on it, and the only people who play are me and Tim. More people should play, seriously. I'll even release conversion rules to use SW cards with PPA TCG, and I'll give out CDs of Student Wars cards for the cost of a CD (or free, if you give me one).
Actually... it wouldn't be that hard to convert, now that I think about it.
-Double all retreat costs.
-Ignore Abilities.
-Replace all instances of "Skill" with "Power"
-Note that the new Powers are designed to affect both players (versus Skills, which just affect the owner)
-Replace "Programming" and "Engineering" with "Technology"
-Replace "Admin" with "Administration"
-Replace "Photography" with "Photographer"
-Turn attributes into additional traits
-Ignore triggertext
-Ignore any obviously incompatible effects
-Ban Storage events
-Ban a few other cards (I'd have to look at them on a case-by-case basis)
In other Student Wars news, Factions is almost done. Thanks to Tim for insisting on keeping Triggertext... it was a very good idea. So yeah, seriously. Please play? I'm really, really proud of this card game.
