Camera Help?

Yeah so lunch happened today. It was good.

Anyone know anything about 35mm film SLR cameras? I need to get one for my photo class next semester (or I can borrow Matt's, but I'd rather have my own in case I take more classes).

I'm looking at the Canon AE-1 and the Nikon N55. Both quite different... the thing is, there are apparently problems with the Nikon's autofocus, and I don't know if I want to get such a good camera if I'll possibly only use it for a couple classes. There's also the Minolta X-700 that seems interesting... Anyone have any thoughts of suggestions, or any other cameras they like or would be willing to sell me?

I would ask janet. She is an expert.

Now...if you were buying an ultrasound machine, you could ask me. I am an expert.

Just buy one that has a lens. That's what I learned in Photo!!! Ahem...

I have an N65, rather than the N55, and yes, the autofocus is a bit ... off sometimes.

And if you like black and white, the Photoclub on campus has a darkroom that you can use if you're a member. Something like $30 a year, and you supply your paper & film, but they supply chemicals.

My cousin is a freelance photographer, if you'd like to speak with him...

Yeah, I was going to say talk to Janet, but Akshat already beat me to it.
