Grandia!

I *finally* got to playing a game I havn't already beaten today.

Continued my long-time-no-play save of Grandia. Once you get past the graphics (it's an old game, the graphics are good for the time), the looonnnggg load times (compared to new games, doing anything is a chore, especially battles), and insane save times (it takes forever to access the memory card), you uncover an amazingly deep experience. I'm not very far along, but I'm quite addicted (the fact that I've been playing it nonstop for the past 5 hours is a testament to that). As a Grandia 2 veteran, the battle system is happily familiar, but the magic/skill system is bizarre (but they seem to change that in every Grandia... Grandia X's system was a change for the worse), especially since I'm unlocking skills that I don't have enough SP for yet. But hey, I'm finding myself engaging enemies just to fight (as I did in G2), despite the load times for battles, so that must be a good thing.

Also felt like I accomplished something at work. Created an image for the new HP laptops, and actually made it work correctly (with the wireless and everything). Then, learnt about Deep Freeze, which I'll be implementing in the next set of images for the library computers. Also picked up a few tips about ghosting and sysprep. Got a ton of old computers written up to be sent back to the district (including dozens of Twinheads and an old Powerbook! :D) And, next month, we'll be setting up a new computer lab downstairs. Exciting!

Also went to my mom's friend's son's third birthday party. It was a lot of fun... little kids are exhausting :-P I dunno if I want to have any anymore lol, but it was very enjoyable.

My apologies to anyone who doesn't like video games, since they've been all I've been blogging about lately. Of course, they're pretty much all I've been doing, so there's not much else for me to blog about, so I'm really not sorry. So nyeh nyeh :-P
(Don't be mad at me :( )

Someone doesn't like video games? Weird... I thought that they were universally liked and cool.

Was it a fourth-floor bathroom birthday party?

Oh, and I'll get punched for this, but I don't care: http://x4.putfile.com/6/16712110960.jpg

Haha... My old Powerbook 520c got me through 180 pages of APUSH notes. But that's about all that it can handle, unfortunately. But the specs are pretty maxed out compared to how I got it originally... now it has a whole GIGABYTE on the hard drive and 32 MEGABYTES of RAM!!!

Oh, and did I mention a 256 color display? *drools*
