Stupid US
College countdown: 13 days.

This is a rant that I intended to write yesterday, but whatever. Meh. So I bought this Saint Seiya DVD in english, right? They did a decent job translating the audio, but a really, really bad job translating the subtitles. Anyway, that's great. And I loved it because they preserved everything from the original series... and translated things more or less directly. But then I come across a series called "Knights of the Zodiac," which aparently is Saint Seiya... rereleased. The same company produced both disks, one year apart (Saint Seiya was 2003, KotZ was 2004). What the hell? That pisses me off... first of all, YOU DONT CHANGE THE NAME OF THE ANIME. Secondly, why are you forcing us to pay more ($14.99 versus $9.99) for 4 episodes instead of 5, in what is undoubtedly a cut-down version of the series (much like they cut DBZ or Gundam Wing). I dunno... I'm just glad I can get the entire series uncut from Thailand... because this pisses me off, and I don't even know WHY it pisses me off. It's more than the series name change... it's the fact that they're changing Hyoga's name (it's HYOGA, not HYOUGA), his cloth name (CYGNUS, not SWAN), and the fact that they are NOT knights of the zodiac... that's reserved for the 12 gold-cloth saints, and the 5 main characters are bronze-level currently. Undoubtedly, the newer one has some screwed up intro and closing sequence too... to "Americanize" it or whatever. Bleeeah.... Stupid US people... screwing up my favorite anime series.

...I have no idea why this is pissing me off. Maybe I'm just in one of those moods... I'm gonna buy and watch "Knights of the Zodiac" sometime to see how they screwed it up. Bleh.

Good luck at school tomorrow everyone. I don't have school tomorrow! I can sleep in until noon, drive around all day, and stay up until midnight! Woot!
