Dark Side of the Moon - Ch 7
Well, you are lucky today-you get three fic chapters ^_^ Enjoy

The Dark Side of the Moon
Chapter Seven
Based on an RP by Alan and David

James quickly ran in and stared at the table where they had laid the body. "Where is it?" he asked Talyon, almost in a panic.
"Relax," he replied, calmly walking over. "Well, the table cover is still in place. Doesn't look like it's been changed at all... See? Some of that black stuff is still here." He pointed to a small trail of blackish blood leading from the table across the room and into a set of double doors.
"Right," James replied nervously, looking around, feeling slightly uncomfortable by the lack of staff in the lab. Usually, there were technicians and doctors running around everywhere...
Talyon walked over to the doors. "This is the operating room. Looks like they took him in here for tests... slightly irregular, but whatever." He walked into the room and looked around. "Hello?"
"No one's in here either?" James followed right behind him.
Talyon looked slightly worried. "I guess not... the trail ends here though..."
"Maybe they carted him off or something? If they used a stretcher, there wouldn't be a trail..."
"Maybe..." Talyon began, the sound of the door behind them interrupting his thoughts. The two of them quickly turned around.
"What the hell.... F..Frank?" Talyon gasped, stumbling backward and nearly tripping over the operating table. Frank Smith, or at least what was left of his body, stood in the doorway menacingly. His skin was pale, covered by splotches of dark grey.
James stared. "What. The. Hell?"
Frank turned toward him, as if interested in something. All of a sudden, the eyes rolled forward from the back of his head, and downward, settling on James' arm. James followed the gaze, only to find himself throwing a punch at Talyon.
"Wha..." Talyon was caught by surprise, the punch connecting squarely with his chin and knocking him to the ground. "James what the..." he started to utter before another movement caught his eye. He rolled away just in time as Frank lunged at him.
"Talyon, watch out!" James cautioned, trying his best to control himself but finding his hand was pulling him in to attack, grabbing a handful of surgical utensils from a tray and chucking them at Talyon.
"Goddammit James, don't make me hurt you!" Talyon yelled back, dodging the instruments and dashing across the room to the door, yanking it open. Standing on the other side was the head doctor, in charge of the lab.
"Doctor! Thank God!" Talyon began. "Listen we have a probl..." he trailed off as he stared at the doctor's face. His cheeks were covered with black ooze, and the doctor looked extremely pale.
"Talyon, help me!" James pleaded from behind him. Talyon spun around to find James approaching with a large knife. Talyon jumped out of the way, the knife coming down and embedding itself in the doctor's chest.
"We need to get you out of here!" Talyon yelled, grabbing his arm and dragging him out of the lab. Outside, he grabbed a card from his belt and hastily stuck it into the door clearance, locking and securing the area.
James fell to the ground with a groan. "It... it's okay now," he said, cautiously moving his fingers.
Talyon sighed and let go of his friend's arm. "Whatever got on your hand won't come off, and we now know what it does, both to living and dead tissue..." He shuddered. "We're being invaded. And we don't know why."
"We have to... talk to the council," said James, getting to his feet. "This is out of our hands now."
Talyon nodded in agreement, and the two of them headed down the long hallway toward the central chamber.

At this point, our RP remains unfinished. However, I have one idea for the end of the story that I'll go on for this fic. Check back tomorrow!
