Dark Side of the Moon - Ch 4
The Dark Side of the Moon
Chapter Four
Based on an RP by Alan and David

"Shit," Talyon breathed, jumping out of the airlock and firing the laser, hitting a large solid mass only meters behind James, as he ran to help his friend. "C'mon, run!"
The two of them scrambled back to the airlock and slammed the door shut, a huge object slamming into the door only seconds later, denting the metal. Talyon shuddered as he waited for the decompression cycle to finish.
"What the hell WAS that?" James yelled at him, stumbling into the hallway.
Talyon sighed and removed his helmet. "Hell if I know... that's what we have to find out. That's what he's for," he replied, gesturing toward the body. "We have to get him to the lab..."
James nodded, squinting at one of the large gashes across the body. "That's strange. It's like there's something in there...moving..."
Talyon bent down to get a better view. "Yeah, one more reason to get it to the lab. They can analyze it better than we can. C'mon, help me." He hoisted one arm over his shoulders, James taking the other. Together, they carried the body over to the lab.
As they walked, Talyon thought to himself, "What the hell was that thing? Whatever it was, if there were more of them, an attack could be fatal to the colony. The populace couldn't see them, but they could see inside perfectly..." He shook the thought out of his head, trying to put his mind on more pleasant subjects.
"Hey, what's wrong?" James asked, noticing his friend's mood. Talyon stared at him.
"You just got attacked by an unseen enemy that no one knew existed on the dark side of the moon's surface. And you're asking me what's wrong?!"
James sighed. "Yeah, I guess I'm still in shock, kinda. By the way, thanks. Back there... I thought I was a goner. I still haven’t mastered running in those suits."
Talyon nodded. "Yeah, well, I would have been too, if you hadn't been there to help. We're going to have to tell the council what we witnessed. They have to do something about it..."
"Right," James replied, kicking open the door to the lab and setting the body on an operating table. "Looks like no one's here, guess they're all out at lunc... ick."
"What is it?" Talyon asked, moving closer.
"I got some of that blood on me," James said, wiping it off and washing his hands in the sink. "No big deal."
"Right." Talyon looked around as James washed his hands. "Hey, what time were those tickets for, anyway?"
James dried his hand and slid the tickets out of his pocket. "1300, that's a few minutes," he told him, surprised. "You still wanna go?"
"Hey, it's something to take my mind off this," Talyon replied, gesturing at the body.
"That's probably a good idea," James conceded and the two of them headed to the holofilm screening area.
