Dark Side of the Moon - Ch 3
Well, I'm back from work, and I'm bored, so here's chapter three. I think this is my first time ever writing in my journal twice in one day.
I'm also going to be using this as my final project for english. Wheee.

Chapter Three
Based on an RP by Alan and David
Talyon gave a sigh and turned around, jogging back through the halls toward the central control area.
"Hey, wait up!" James called out as he ran up beside Talyon, his blonde hair unruly as always.
Talyon slowed down to a fast walk. "Hey."
"You off duty yet?" James slowed down his pace to match Talyon's, "I got tickets to tonight's holofilm screening."
"James, hey," Talyon muttered. "Listen, you've got access to the supply closet right? I need a laser drill and some reflection foil Damn the ban on weapons... can you get those for me?"
"Umm... sure," James replied, a little taken aback. "Why?"
"Uh, it's hard to explain. I'm actually not even sure..." They approached an airlock and Talyon stopped. "I'll wait here. Can you bring me the foil and laser?"
"Sure," James said, heading off down a hallway, visibly confused. A few minutes later, he returned with two drills and two sets of foil.
"Thanks," Talyon told him as he handed him a drill and some foil, stopping when his friend began suiting up as well. He put a hand on his shoulder. "What are you doing?"
James looked up. "What? You think I'm letting you go out there to do whatever-the-hell-you're-up-to alone?"
Talyon opened his mouth to retaliate, but realized he wouldn't be able to change his friend's mind. "Just... be careful. And if I tell you to run, run."
James nodded, locking on the suit's helmet as Talyon stuck the foil onto the drill tip, creating a makeshift weapon. James did the same.
"Keep this ready at all times," Talyon cautioned, motioning to the weapon before stepping into the airlock. "You never know when we'll need it."
James nodded, following him into the airlock. A few seconds later, both were on the lunar surface. Talyon stood close to the colony, within range of the lights emanating from the interior. "Stay close to the colony, in the light."
"Right," James' voice crackled over the headset. Cautiously, the two of them inched they way forward.
"Up there," Talyon said, gesturing toward some faintly blinking lights in the darkness. The lights of colony space suits. As he watched, the lights became briefly obscured, as if something was standing over the bodies.
He took a deep breath. "Okay, stay close, and move fast," he said before heading quickly toward the bodies, James following behind urgently, holding his drill ready.
They reached the bodies and Talyon knelt, quickly studying the nametags. "Quick, who on the Southern research team has a son?"
"I don't know," James replied, obviously getting quite nervous, glancing around him as if something would jump out any second. "I've never paid much attention to that team..."
"Damn." Talyon quickly searched his memory. The tag on the door to Robert's quarters... Smith! He quickly grabbed the body tagged "Frank Smith" and sprang to his feet. "Back to the airlock. Now!"
James headed back to the airlock, reaching it before Talyon and unlocking the hatch. "Hold it open!" Talyon shouted as he felt a presence behind him. Dropping the body, he fired blinding into the darkness. The beam lanced through the darkness, hitting something large and solid, sending it flying backward. "Dammit, give me cover James!" he shouted, firing again.
James rushed over, standing between Talyon and the creature, firing blinding. "Go!"
Quickly, Talyon dragged the body back to the airlock. "James, get your ass back here!" he called. He saw James fire a few more shots and turn to run before stumbling and falling to the ground.
"Dammit!" James yelled, struggling to get to his feet.
Wheee. I think this is a good place to stop ^_^ Just to piss you off. It's kinda a cliffhanger. At least the best I can do through RP translation. Tune in tomorrow for another exciting chapter :-P
