Dark Side of the Moon - Ch 2
Well, here's chapter two. Originally, Vicki was in this RP as well, but I'm cutting her parts out of the fic, so she isn't creditted.

Editted 12/11/03 for spelling and grammar.

The Dark Side of the Moon
Chapter Two
Based on an RP by Alan and David

Talyon took a deep breath as the airlock decompressed and allowed him out onto the lunar surface. He lit a small flare and turned to Bob, watching from inside the dome, and gave an enthusiastic thumbs up before heading off toward the power conduits along the outer sphere of the living quarters.
Finally, reaching the conduits, Talyon carefully examined the wires, searching for anything that could be causing a problem. There. One, two....five breaks in the wiring, all parallel. He stared, concerned, and saw scratch marks on the outside of the dome as well. He backed up slowly and turned, eyes scanning the darkness.
"There are bigger problems than just lights out here," he thought to himself, scrambling as fast as he could to the airlock. Behind him, he could feel something lunging at him though he could not see anything. He leaped into the airlock and slammed the door controls, jumping as something rammed into the shut door with a thud. He waited for the pressure to equalize before stumbling out into the hall and removing his helmet.
"Shit..." he murmured, before looking down at Bob's face.
"What happened, mister?"
"Something," Talyon muttered, talking to himself more than to the kid. "Shit...we have a problem..." He brushed by Bob and headed down the hall, not bothering to remove the suit.
"Is my daddy okay?"
Talyon stopped dead. If whatever it was had enough strength to cut the alloy...
"Robert," he started slowly, turning toward him, "daddy met... something... outside. We'll go look for him but.... I can't make any promises."
Bob just stared, as if not understanding.
Talyon sighed. "Look, I... I'm going to find your daddy. I'll bring him back, alright?"
"Can I go?" Bob asked, half concerned, half oblivious. "I can find him!"
"No! No...we...don't have any spacesuits your size," Talyon responded quickly, unable to think of another excuse. "You can't go out without a suit."
"I'm big enough! I'm eight!" Bob stretched himself out tall, holding out seven fingers. Despite everything, Talyon chuckled.
"Look, I'm sure you're big enough, but only people with jobs can go outside." He knelt down so his face was level to Bob's, smiling encouragingly. "Listen, Robert, I will go out and bring your daddy home, okay? You can watch me from your home. I promise."
"Okay," was the simple reply, and Talyon watched as he scampered back through the hall to his living quarters, still young, still innocent.

Meh. Translating this particular RP is harder than I thought. Chapter three coming tomorrow, or when I get back from work and add it, whichever comes first.

alan-you can't light a flare on the moon. You should know that. no air-no flare

It's a special flare that doesn't need oxygen :-P

But hey, at least I took out the part where they heard footsteps, since sounds can't travel in space.
