Saturday December 06, 2003 Dark Side of the Moon - Ch 1
Well, I am out of things to write about, so I am going to begin turing one of my recent RPs with David into a fanfic.
And I can't think of a title, so here it is.

Editted 12/11/03 for spelling and grammar

The Dark Side of the Moon
Chapter One
Based on an RP by Alan and David

Bob stared out through the clear polycarbonate dome into the darkness surrounding them.
"I wish I could be out there," he mused, a chime from the door interrupting his thoughts.
"Uh, hey," said a young man, around 17, as he stepped into the room. He was wearing a standard work uniform, tool belts strapped haphazardly across his chest and waist. His dark brown eyes blended well with his dark brown hair and bushy beard. "Is the man of the house here?"
"Nah, he's out," Bob responded, pointing into the darkness where the small flickering lights of the colony's spacesuits were barely visible.
"Ah, I see," the man responded, moving closer. "Someone reported problems with the lighting system in this area. Have you noticed anything?"
"No."
Bob's mother walked into the room, having noticed the presence of another life form. "Hello there, may I help you?"
"Ah yes, my name is Talyon," Talyon said. "I received reports of problems with the lighting system in this sector...."
Bob tuned out the two, focusing on the lights in the distance. They seemed to be moving closer. Quickly. Squinting, he could barely make out the dim outlines of the suits. They were running. Fast.
"No, no problems," his mother was responding. "Feel free to check if you li.... Robert! You still haven’t taken your dinner pill!" She held up a tiny brown capsule, furious.
Bob sighed, trudging over to her, swallowing the pill, and returning to his seat. The men outside were clearly visible now. Clearly running. Clearly panicked.
"Thank you, miss," Talyon told her, walking over to a wall panel and removing it to inspect the systems. Everything appeared normal.
"Uh.....everything appears to be....fine," he told her, closing everything back up. Must be a problem with the conduits. Sorry to bother you. He turned to leave but the motion from outside caught his eye. "What..."
Suddenly, the lights stopped moving, seemingly collapsing on the ground.
"Mom," Bob said, "there's something outside."
Talyon stared a few seconds longer, shaking his head, smiling down at the youngster. "I'm sure it wasn't anything, just the light playing on the dome. Good day, miss." He walked back into the hallway. After a moment's hesitation, Bob ran after him.
"Mister, I saw something out there. Really, I did!"
Talyon chuckled. "Hey kid, Robert was it?, settle down. It was probably just the light. Besides, what could survive out there?"
"There were people. They were running," Bob insisted, stubborn.
"I'm going out there right now to check your connections," Talyon said, approaching an airlock and slipping into a space suit. "You can watch from here if you want."
Bob nodded reluctantly, scampering to the dome as Talyon entered the air lock.

Meh. This isn't really a good place to end it, but there isn't really a good place to end it since it's an RP. I guess this works just as well as the next one.
