First Day
Well, that sure went by fast. My first day of my first job! I made $26 in tips in addition to the $2.50/hour I get, which comes out to about $9/hour! Not bad for my first job... Anyway, here are some things I have to remember ^_^()
--Write down the Credit Card reciept number when charging to a card
--Spend more time in the dining room, not the kitchen
--Listen more carefully to people ;)
--Make sure to put down the correct price for an item :-P
Anyway, it was actually really enjoyable. I messed up a lot, I know, but hey it's my first time, and I only messed up on the first 2 people, after which I ALMOST got everything down perfect. I go back Thursday since tomorrow is the big board meeting.
Anyway, letsee... there were only about 3 eat-in customers. I guess people are still used to the restaurant as it used to be-a carry out place. There were about 8 carry out orders though. Those are a lot easier to handle because all you have to do is take the order, process the payment, and give them food. You don't have to walk around asking how their food is and refilling their drinks. That's something I have to work on more, customer service. Considering I was really nervous, I don't think I did half bad. And this one guy I was SURE was going to kill me (his food took forever and I spilled some of his tea carrying it to him :-P) still tipped three dollars, which isn't bad considering he only spent $12. Either he felt really sorry for me or I actually wasn't half bad...
Bleah, but tomorrow is the big board meeting. And before that I have yearbook, right after which Vicki and Amanda and I are going to dinner. Another long day tomorrow. And Thursday because I go back. And Friday because I have volunteering AND this job. And Saturday because I work too.
