In LA, and ick!
Wow, it's been quite an adventure already, and it's only been one day! Heh, the hotel we're staying at (the UCLA guest house) has free ethernet. How neat is that? Anyway, I have to tell you about what happened last night.

Two nights ago (Saturday night) I discovered I had a bug bite on my hand. I didn't think much of it. Last night, however, it started to swell and stuff, so we had to go to the emergency room in LA. So we waited and waited and waited for about 2 hours, and we finally got in. Turns out the bite got infected (streptococus, I know I'm spelling that wrong) and I had to take antibiotics. Easy, right? Well, since I still can't swallow pills, the doctor had to prescribe liquid medicine. Only problem: I would need close to a liter of the medicine, and no store in town carried that much. So, we waited for another hour at the pharmacy while they called the doctor and got a new prescription. Finally, we got it and I took it. I'm better now, although it's still really swollen and stuff. At least it's better. Had I not gotten the antibiotics, it would have spread through my lymphatic system (it had already started to spread, I still have the streaks up my arm) and may have eventually required surgery. Safe to say, I'd rather have the antibiotics.

Heh, that wasn't very pleasant, was it? Anyway, we just got done with a tour of USC. All in all, I was very impressed with the campus and programs. I think I found another college to apply to ;) My UCLA tour is tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be impressed because UCLA is my first choice right now. It's quite impressive at night though. Can't wait to see it in the daylight.

Heh, I got lots of pictures too. I'll have them up when I get back, or maybe tonight if I'm really bored (I brought my camera, laptop, software, and everything so I'm set).

Oh, one more thing. CLAY AIKEN'S CD, "MEASURE OF A MAN," COMES OUT TOMORROW!!!! GET IT!!!!!! I've heard a few clips from the CD and they're AMAZING! Get it before they sell out ;) Seriously. Get it. Please? Pretty please?

Heh, no, I didn't have to get a liter of medicine. The pharmicist was able to change it to a different medicine. I only need about a half-liter of this one, and they had it in stock. But I'm on it for 10 days though.
